Power restored in Baja del Mar after the October 16-18 outage
Update, Sunday October 18, 2:20 PM: POWER IS BACK across Baja del Mar, including the third row. CFE fixed both faults, the pole at the entrance and the pole behind casas 141 and 142. Thank you to everyone who reported, posted updates and checked on neighbors.
If an appliance does not work now that power is back, keep photos and your CFE folio: CFE has a claims process for damage from outages.
Update, Sunday October 18, 1:30 PM: the CFE crew is working on the pole at the entrance with a bucket truck.
Update, Sunday October 18, 12:45 PM: CFE confirmed there are two separate faults. One is the pole at the entrance, which left the whole community without power on Friday night. The other is the pole in the alley behind casas 141 and 142, which cut the third row on Friday afternoon. The large truck is here, the permit came through at 12:41, and they estimate 2 to 3 hours of work.
Update, Sunday October 18, 8 AM: still no power, about 40 hours now. CFE customer service answered on X and Facebook that report A0107608134 is in process; they have been told their crews came three times without fixing it. Keep messaging them there, adding that folio. For food, Fiesta market has had ice.
Update, Saturday October 17, 8 PM: a CFE crew came around 7:30 PM but again with the wrong truck. Another truck is coming tonight, and they say the repair should take about half an hour.
Update, Saturday October 17, 7 PM: still no power. The CFE app now shows reports as "Falla general atendida" (fault fixed). It is not fixed here. If your report closed, tap "No, sigo sin luz", and send CFE the message below on X (@CFE_Contigo) or on the CFE Contigo Facebook page, with a photo of the loose cable if you have one. The more people send it, the more weight it has.
Folios: A0107606956, A0107606975, A0107607011."
Update, Saturday October 17, 3 PM: power is still out. CFE inspected the pole this morning. Two repairs are pending: reconnecting the loose cable and fixing a blown transformer outside the development. A CFE crew came around 2:30 PM but was not the team for this repair, so they called the right crew. No time estimate yet. Fiesta market had ice around 11 AM.
Update, Saturday October 17, 8:30 AM: power is still out. Last night's outage came from a high-voltage cable that snapped near Fiesta market. It also left Constitución, Aztlán, Reforma, Obrera, Lucio Blanco and Plan Libertador without power. CFE already has several reports open, is aware, and estimates the repair within 24 hours, so there is no need to file more. If the CFE app shows your report as "restored", tap "No, sigo sin luz" so it stays open. The app will not accept a second report for the same address.
Casas 123-S through 157 lost power on Friday, October 16, around 3 PM. A high-voltage cable on the CFE pole in the service alley behind casa 142 came loose from its metal clamp and the wind is moving it. It is the same point that failed on October 2. Around 9 PM the rest of the community also lost power; the cause of that is not confirmed yet.
The pole and the cable belong to CFE, and only CFE can repair them. This is not related to today's work on Módulo 4, which finished on schedule.
Estefany filed CFE report A0107606956 around 9 PM; CFE estimated 1 to 10 hours. CFE is only taking individual reports, one per house. If you have a Mexican phone, please call 071 and give the service number printed on your CFE bill. The more houses that report, the sooner they come.
When you report: postal code 22704, mention folio A0107606956, and write in the comments that the whole Baja del Mar community is out. Landlines do not work without power, so call from a cell phone.
A wire was also reported hanging near the guard house. Treat every fallen wire as live: keep away from it and from the pole, and do not touch any wire.
