UrgentCoastal flood warning through Thursday: tides are running higher than predicted

1 of 3

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a coastal flood warning until Thursday the 29th at 1 PM. Tides are coming in 1.5 to 1.7 ft higher than the tables say, so the late-morning high tide (Tuesday 9:51, Wednesday 10:29, Thursday 11:13) may reach around 8 feet. If you live on the seafront, stay off patios, the walkway and the seawalls around those times, and never turn your back on the ocean.

Power restored on casas 123 to 157 after a CFE failure

Casas 123 through 157 lost power on Friday, October 2, at about 9 PM. A connector on the CFE pole behind casa 140 overheated and fell to the ground. Neighbors saw it happen.

The part that failed belongs to CFE, and only CFE can work on it. Estefany filed one report for the whole street (folio A0107577120). The CFE crew arrived Saturday morning around 10 and restored service.

The work that morning behind casa 140 was on the wooden housing of the association's module. The part that failed is on CFE's pole.

For next time: CFE responds faster to one report for the whole street than to separate ones. Call 071 from a Mexican phone. If the CFE app says a report already exists, call 071 and give that folio number instead of filing a new one.
